Coaching Statement
1. Effort
Wins are great, but effort is what creates growth. A swimmer who gives their best every day will always get better, regardless of the “scoreboard”.
2. Improvement
Everyone will face setbacks—whether in the pool or in life. When we focus on personal improvement rather than comparing ourselves to others, wins and losses become part of the larger journey of progress.
3. Positivity
The world can be negative, and we never know what a swimmer brings with them to the pool. I want this team to be a place of kindness, encouragement, and positive energy so kids genuinely want to come back.
4. Community
Community is what holds everything together. Success is sweeter when shared, and tough moments are easier when teammates lift each other up. A strong community ensures that good days and hard days bring us closer rather than pulling us apart.
Together, these four pillars create an environment where kids work hard, grow steadily, support each other, and learn lessons that extend far beyond swimming.
Nick Agulto is so pumped to be able to join the Dale City Swim Team as Assistant Head Coach! He swam for the Piedmont Tsunami’s Swim Team for 7 years, he started swimming for them at age 11. Nick coached the Tsunami’s for 5 of those years, and was voted “Coach of the year” 3 years in a row. As a swimmer, his favorite event was the 100 IM.
As a recent graduate from Old Dominion University, he plans to start working as a CTE teacher and swim coach for Frederick County schools this coming fall.
Coach Nick looks forward to joining, supporting, and pouring into the Frogs swimmers this summer!
Courtney Creedon is excited to return to the Frogs Swim Team as Assistant Head Coach! She started with the Frogs at age five, and several of her closest friends today were met on the pool deck.
As a swimmer, Courtney holds the 15–18 girls relay records with three teammates and competed at states in the 200-yard medley and freestyle relays, as well as the 500-yard freestyle. She coached the team from 2018–2023, helping swimmers of all ages grow in skill and confidence.
A recent James Madison University graduate with a BS in Psychology and minor in HR Development, Courtney now works as an HR Coordinator at Cvent and looks forward to supporting the next generation of Frogs swimmers.
My name is Jamelia House, and I’ve been swimming for over 15 years. I started with the Dale City Frogs when I was 5 years old and spent every summer with the team until I eventually aged out. I was also a part of OCCS for 10 years, which helped grow both my love for swimming and my experience in the sport.
I’m a recent graduate of Virginia State University, where I earned my B.S. in Psychology with a minor in Military Science. I also recently commissioned into the United States Army as a 2nd Lieutenant and Active Duty Aviation Officer (15A).
In addition to swimming competitively for years, I also have coaching experience working with students at my school to help them learn how to swim and become more confident in the water. Swimming has always been a huge part of my life, and I’m super excited for the opportunity to bring my energy, leadership, and passion for the sport to the team this summer!
I am coach Meshmesh, and I have been swimming on the frogs for about 8 years. This will be my 4th year being a coach. I swam all four years at Hylton High School. My favorite stroke is the butterfly. I enjoy watching movies, listening to music, and hanging with friends and family. My favorite thing about coaching is the children and being able to teach them all the strokes. But not only that, I love having fun with them!
Coach Rhyan has been involved in competitive swimming for 7–8 years and has spent the last 7 years teaching swim lessons and water safety instruction. With a strong passion for helping swimmers grow both in and out of the water, she enjoys creating a supportive, encouraging, and confidence-building environment for athletes of all levels. Her favorite strokes are breaststroke and freestyle, and she especially enjoys helping swimmers refine technique and build endurance. Outside of coaching, Rhyan values teamwork, personal growth, and helping young swimmers develop a lifelong love for the water.
I'm Coach Shams. I have been with the Frogs for years, and this is my second year coaching. I swam all through High School and my favorite stroke is Freestyle. I like music, hanging out with my friends, and just having fun. What I enjoy most about coaching is helping kids learn, improve, and enjoy the sport.
