Meet Recap and Ribbiting Highlights - 06/21/2025 DCST at Urbanna

Hello again from your friendly Froggy Computer 🐸💦!

It was a steamy one on Saturday where the Frogs took on the Urbanna Sea Otters in our closes meet to date. The Sea Otters had entered almost the same number of swimmers as the Frogs with Urbanna coming in at 82 swimmers against the Frogs 95. With numbers that close, it was anyone’s meet, and the Frogs came out ahead for the third week in a row!!! Final score was Dale City Frogs 2441.5 to Urbanna’s 1833.5. If you are wondering about the .5 point, it is because there was a tie in one of the races, which is somewhat rare but cool to see happen 🐸💚😎!!!! Also happy to report, I got my weekly cheeseburger at approximately 8:22 AM. Please see attached meet results document for your use.

For those keeping track, our commitment percentage was not as good as it has been in prior meets, with the Frogs coming in at over 7%, with 22 individual no swims. We do recognize that things happen, so once you know you won’t be able to make a meet or need to leave early, please communicate so we can adjust. Additionally, for swimmers who are at meets, please encourage them to swim all of their entered events to keep the meet running smoothly and to keep our points up! 💚💚

Another great week of time improvements with the Frogs at 43% of their swims resulting in personal bests. The Frogs are growing stronger each week, with some dropping time consistently week to week. Keep telling your swimmers to do their hopping best 🏊♂️💦!!!

DQ’s were up this week, but that is normal as the coaches start putting our swimmers into events that they have never swam before. Overall, 12% of our swims resulted in DQ’s. If your swimmer disqualified, please see the coaches during the week at practice to review what they can improve. Please do not approach meet officials, stroke and turn officials, or computer representatives for details as the meet progresses, as it slows the timeline, and I know you all want to get our of the heat as much as I do. ☀️☀️☀️

Here are some ribbit-worthy highlights from the meet:
