Meet Recap and Ribbiting Highlights - 07/12/2025 VO Sea Devils at Dale City Frogs
Good Evening Frog Families 🐸💦!
Apologies for not getting my email out last week, but I was at a conference all week and although I wrote the email, I didn’t have my analytic tools available. I wanted to get this email out to you before the Montclair Seahawks recap, which will follow shortly.
Last week’s meet against the Virginia Oaks Sea Devils was an exciting rematch from last year’s highly contested divisional meet, where the Frogs barely pulled out a win. The Sea Devils came to the Frog Pond with something to prove and with swimmer entries incredibly close, with Frogs with 105 and VOSD with 99, it was anyone’s meet. Temperatures and humidity took a toll on everyone, with the “real feel” at over 100 before 9 AM. That being said our Frogs worked through the heat and I am happy to report that we came away with the win, bringing our record for the season at a respectable 4-1!! Final score was Dale City Frogs 2445 to VOSD 2269🐸💚😎!!!!Please see attached meet results document for your use.
For those keeping track, the cheeseburger timing metric was set at 8:15 AM this week, mainly because the breakfast burritos flew off the concessions stand. I am so grateful to the Alfaro family for making sure our concessions are one of the best in the league, maybe next year I can work some Frog puns or dad jokes onto the menu!
All year, our families have understood the importance of accurate commitments, and we did an amazing job again this week. Frogs “no swims” clocked in at 5% compared to the VOSD with 10%, which certainly helped with the win. Ensuring that you sign your swimmer in or out for meets is especially important to our Clerk of Course and Officials who are using the heat sheet to perform their duties.💚💚
Time improvements continue to impress me with this team. At the fifth meet of the year, we would expect time improvement percentages to drip a bit, but the Frogs had 48% of their swims result in time improvements. As a league, settings have been updated to reflect swimmers times from 2025 and are now excluding prior year’s times, which is far more accurate in my opinion. Amazing job Frogs!!! It’s obvious that our swimmers are doing their hopping best 🏊💦!!!
As for DQ’s this week, the Frogs had an overall stat of 12%, mostly due to our coaches starting to put swimmers in events they may have never swam before. Great numbers leading into our last meet of the regular season.
For only our second home meet, I think that our parent volunteers did a wonderful job ensuring a smooth event for both teams. As of Saturday morning, all available shifts had been covered and shift change seemed to go pretty seamlessly as well 😊 Thank you to Latrice who keeps us all organized, and to all the parents who help out week to week, many performing more than one position or working the full meet duration.
Keep in mind, we will see VOSD again in 2 weeks at divisionals!!!
Here are some ribbit-worthy highlights from the meet:

Don’t forget to have your swimmer pick up their ribbons at practice this week! And of course, if you have any questions about our results, the new app, or something else please feel free to reach out to me. See you on deck!
Ribbetingly yours,
